Warranty Guidelines

Section 1: Pre-built | Section 2: Build-To-Order | Section 3: Build-for-Hire | Section 4: Extended warranty terms

Section 1: Pre-built Systems coverage

Pre-built systems are pre-configured, plug & play PCs made and sold exclusively by ApexAlpha Labs- purchased directly from us, with no client owned parts in the system when sold. Commercial/pro grade systems follow the same warranty guidelines.

Standard WARRANTY (included)

1 Year

ApexAlpha Labs will fix or replace any valid component defect outside of normal wear & tear arising from manufacture (e.g. building) of system at no cost to you for a term of 1 year from purchase date.


Client supplied storage media is not covered by our standard warranty.

EXTENDED WARRANTY (Optional purchase)

2-4 Years

ApexAlpha Labs will fix or replace any valid component defect outside of normal wear & tear arising from manufacture (e.g. building) of system(s) at no cost to you. 


Client supplied storage media is not covered by our standard warranty.

Technical Support

Lifetime

ApexAlpha Labs will help you if you get stuck or need advice for as long as you own the system. 

Parts

1-4 Years depending on warranty selected

We will replace parts that fail due to defect under normal use at no cost to you. 

Labor

1-4 Years

ApexAlpha Labs will fix or replace any defect outside of normal wear & tear arising from manufacture (e.g. building) of system(s) at no cost to you. 

Operating System

Limited, 14 Days

ApexAlpha Labs will fix an operating system failure at no cost to you that was not caused by malicious software or damaged by defective updates/3rd party programs 14 days from purchase date. 


*A fee will be charged for a new license key + diagnosis labor if outside the 14 day window or found to be caused by malware or improper use of the OS/computer

Malware & Corruption

No warranty coverage

ApexAlpha Labs will not warranty an operating system or computer failure caused by, malware, viruses, worms, Trojans, key loggers, PuPs, Crypto-jacking, intentional or unintentional corruption or damage by defective or incomplete updates, drivers, 3rd party programs, game mods, improper shutdowns, etc.


*A fee will be charged for a new license key + installation & diagnosis labor.

Physical damage

No warranty coverage

If any damage is found to be from negligence, abuse, acts of god, wind, flood, fire, lightning, liquid damage, faulty mains power wiring, power surges/spikes, improper installation of system/additional parts, accessories or going over the limit of the systems capabilities (e.g. overclocking), failure to clean or maintain your system (e.g. cleaning out air filters, fans, heat-sinks, etc.)- ApexAlpha Labs will deny any free repair or replacement of the system in part or whole. 

DIY Upgrades to BIOS Firmware

No warranty coverage

If you update your systems firmware (UEFI/BIOS) & it bricks the motherboard or makes it inoperable in any way- it will not be covered by warranty.  


*A new replacement motherboard can be ordered at cost for the customer + labor fee.

Data loss

No warranty coverage

We do not cover data being lost. 


However, a replacement drive of equal capacity will be provided along with a fresh copy of Windows OS for the duration of your warranty term. 


Drive replacement is only covered with drives purchased through ApexAlpha Labs. 

Network connection Issues

No warranty coverage

ISP/network/server connectivity is completely out of our control- we cannot cover anything related to ISP connections, game server connections, Ethernet wiring quality, unmanaged or managed switches, WiFi signal strength, RF interference, structure associated signal attenuation (Loss), ping, jitter, packet loss, download or upload speeds, failed downloads or poor online play experiences. 

Customer added parts

No warranty coverage

ApexAlpha Labs does not cover any component, accessory, or peripheral installed or attached post-purchase to a system that was not part of the original configuration furnished to the client. 


Section 2: Built-to-order Computer Systems

Built-to-order systems are PCs built by ApexAlpha Labs with parts ordered through our distributors in a custom configuration; specified by the client with parts selected by us for the best compatibility and system operation. Client is only allowed to migrate drives over to the new system. Commercial/pro grade systems follow the same warranty protocols.

ApexAlpha Labs will fix or replace any valid component defect outside of normal wear & tear arising from manufacture (e.g. building) of system(s) at no cost to you.

Parts (supplied by us)

1-4 Years

We will replace parts that fail due to defect under normal use at no cost to you for the full term of the warranty period.


Standard warranty period is 1 year from purchase date. Extended warranties are available to extend coverage. 

Parts (supplied by client)

No warranty coverage OEM warranty only

ApexAlpha Labs will work with the client to replace a defective item that is DOA or failed under normal use & help with a warranty return to the part manufacturer or retailer the client purchased the parts from. 


Subject to an hourly rate for repair + part replacement cost. 

Operating System

14 Days

ApexAlpha Labs will fix an operating system failure at no cost to you that was not caused by malicious software or damaged by defective updates/3rd party programs 14 days from purchase date.

Section 4: Extended Warranty Plan Terms

All warranty plans with (e.g. Platinum, Commercial & Commercial+) & without data recovery (Standard, Silver, Gold) included :

ApexAlpha Labs (our, us) & the client (you, your, customer) agrees to the following:


  • The extended warranty must be purchased at the time of sale and cannot be added after the initial purchase
  • The extended warranty covers one (1) system (Computer) and one (1) storage drive per warranty term sold to the client & installed by ApexAlpha      Labs LLC 
  • The extended warranty is applicable to the original purchaser and any hardware purchased from ApexAlpha Labs
  • The extended warranty plan is per system and is not blanket coverage for multiple units
  • Multiple units will require their own individual extended warranty plan for extended warranty service
  • Repeated failures for boot drives, auxiliary drives or other components will be denied warranty service & will be subject to data recovery charges      should the client wish to recover data & only a new replacement drive will be supplied.
  • Covered system storage media includes M.2 NVMe NAND Flash, SATA NAND Flash (2.5" SSD) and SATA Mechanical HDDs (3.5") 
  • Turnaround time for data recovery varies. Depending on the damage or corruption, recovery from any drive can take longer for special circumstances (e.g. clean room recovery) 
  • All serial numbers for drives, motherboards, CPUs, GPUs, RAM, etc. are      recorded and retained for warranty service purposes. 
  • Any drives or component not furnished by ApexAlpha Labs LLC will be denied      warranty service
  • All warranty plans are non-transferable
  • Extended warranty services cannot be used on another existing ApexAlpha Labs system that does not have a paid extended warranty plan purchased for it
  • Extended warranty plan charges are non-refundable
  • No pro-rate refund will be provided for any unused services, unscheduled service intervals, missed appointments, cancellation or termination of services by either ApexAlpha Labs LLC or You (customer) 
  • Service and support requests will be answered within 24-48 hours
  • Repair service is by appointment only or when received via shipping
  • Cleaning of systems are by appointment only or when received via shipping
  • All systems will require shipping paid for by the client to ship to our facility. 
  • Shipping of systems that have been validated as a warranty claim or for routine service by us, will be paid by ApexAlpha Labs and sent back to the client at the time of completion of the services
  • Systems shipped from ApexAlpha Labs to the client will have shipping insurance attached.
  • Title to products and risk of loss shall pass to you once your system is delivered to the carrier for shipment 
  • Systems shipped to ApexAlpha Labs & deemed ineligible for warranty or maintenance service, you are required to send (electronically or via postage) a pre-paid shipping label to receive the system back 

OUT-OF-WARRANTY CONDITIONS:


  • If a system is denied for services & the client elects to not pay for a repair & fails to arrange return shipping, after 30 days (from receiving date) the system will be considered abandoned and will become the property of ApexAlpha Labs LLC
  • If services are approved by the client for out-of-warranty service, the client will be invoiced immediately for repairs & parts. 
  • The client has 5 business days to pay an invoice for services rendered
  • Failure to pay invoice will incur storage fees ($25 per day) 5 business days past due invoice date to day 30 ($625 max)
  • After 30 days (on invoice date) the system will be considered abandoned & will become the property of ApexAlpha Labs LLC
  • Any outstanding balances for storage fees, unpaid invoiced out-of-warranty service and parts charges will be sent to a 3rd party for collections
